Local councils around the Greater Manchester area have come together to discuss the ongoing issues in and around the world-class football stadium.

It was recently announced that there is going to be some redevelopment to the stadium by including up to 100,000 new seats by the end of the year. This way, there will be a proper plan in place to get fans in and out of the stadium safely, it will reduce the crowds from hanging outside the stadium without a ticket, and also it opens more opportunities for newer fans just getting into the sport and want to experience their first game in the flesh.

Although these plans may seem too good to be true, Lord Sebastian Coe and Andy Burnham have joined forces with Trafford City Council, Greater Manchester Combined Authority, stadium staff, and Manchester United legend, Gary Neville to cement these plans and get right to work!

“These plans are to help fully unlock the incredibly exciting potential here at Old Trafford”, said Lord Coe during his press statement.

This once in a generation project is said to make great changes to not only the stadium layout but also the atmosphere on game days.

Around 5000 new homes have been developed and built within the Trafford area, and proposals are also set in place to present to both Salford and Manchester’s City Councils.

It’s an exciting time to be in Manchester, home to two of the world’s greatest football teams. With pioneering plans left, right, and centre, these projects are set to make our city safer, cleaner, and overall improve the economy after its unfortunate downfall in recent years.
