It was victory for Carlos Sainz and Ferrari this weekend as he took home the 1st place spot on the podium this weekend. Lando Norris was in 2nd place, and Charles Leclerc in 3rd place.
Max Verstappen, however, did not do well for himself on Sunday. Now, we all love watching Verstappen getting competitive with the drivers during a race, but Sunday was quite a sight. After battling for the top 3 spot out with Lando Norris, he drove Norris off the track and as this drama unfolded, Verstappen was hit with two 10-second penalties, therefore finishing the race in 6th place!
It was Fernando Alonso’s 400th Grand Prix but unfortunately instead of claiming a victory to celebrate, his car got into some trouble which led to a DNF during the 16th lap.
Williams’ Alex Albon and RB’s Yuki Tsunoda made contact during the opening lap therefore both sustaining early casualties. Both drivers were okay but had to retire the cars.
After the Mexican Grand Prix, the driver’s standings are becoming even closer. Max Verstappen is still in the lead with 362 points, and Lando Norris is very close behind with 315 points! Who is going to win? We will see in three races time…
